Step 1
Copy/ftp all contents of your 'data' directory to your hard drive. The 'data' directory will have subdirectories. Also transfer these with it's contents.
The 'data' directory and it's location is explained in the installation instructions. The 'data' directory contains all your settings and messages.
Step 2
Do a clean install of SiteNet BBS on your new host/server. Installation instructions can be found here.
Step 3
Copy/ftp all files and subdirectories that you transferred to your hard drive in step 1 with it's contents to the 'data' directory of the new installation. Replace all existing files inside the 'data' directory except setup.cfg
Important: Don't replace setup.cfg in the 'data' directory of the new installation.
Step 4
Set the permissions of all files that you transferred to the 'data' directory to 777 - including subdirectories and it's contents. Note that the sub directories also needs the permission setting of 777
7.2.1 How to make a backup
Copy/ftp the entire contents of your 'data' directory to your hard drive or other backup medium. The 'data' directory will have subdirectories. Also transfer these with it's contents.

7.2.2 How to restore a backup
When you made a backup you transferred the entire contents of the 'data' directory to your hard drive or other backup medium. Now transfer the contents of the 'data' directory back from your hard drive (or other backup medium) to the 'data' directory of SiteNet BBS.
Set the permissions of all files that you transferred to the 'data' directory to 777 - including subdirectories and it's contents (files).
