3. The Advertiser Control Panels & Customization
     3.1. Advertiser Account Creation
     3.2  Advertiser Logins
     3.3  Advertiser Control Panel Customization
     3.4  Customizing Email Messages

3.1 Advertiser Account Creation

3.1.1 Advertisers first need to register/sign-up for an account before they can add PPC Links and buy clicks. You can get the link to the sign-up form in the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Settings >> Global Engine Settings - Scroll down to the Useful Links section. You can place the link all over your web site or PowerSeek templates to get Advertisers to sign up for an account.

3.1.2 Customizing the look and feel of the Registration form
To customize the registration form, go to the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Template Manager - Then edit template called: ppc_user_registration.html

3.1.3 Collecting Extra Advertiser Information
For some reason you might want to collect extra details about an advertiser. If you would like to do this, go to the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Settings >> Extra Fields - In this section you can add additional fields where advertisers needs to supply additional information when registering an account. Note that you will need to edit the registration template (ppc_user_registration.html) to include the additional fill-in-boxes. The fill-in-boxes need the name of efX where X is the number of the extra field.

Let's say you add an extra field and this field is the 5th extra field, then the HTML code of the fill-in-box you would add to the registration form template would look like this:

<input name="ef5" size="50">

Remember that the fill-in-box needs to be in the scope of the HTML <FORM> tag.

3.1.4 Receiving Payments for Clicks
After an advertiser has signed up he/she can buy clicks by clicking on the Payment tab when logged into the advertiser Control Panel. The advertiser will then be redirected to an order form. The order form can be from any order processor like PayPal, or Worldpay, etc. You can change this link so that it goes to your order processor's order form. To change this link, go to the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Settings - Look for the URL redirects section and the text 'Link to your order processor form'.

When an Advertiser buy's clicks, you need to add the funds to his account. To add funds to an advertiser's account, go to the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Payments - Choose the advertiser from the drop down box and specify the amount to add to his/her account. Then press the 'Add Payment' button.

3.2 Advertiser Logins

It will be a good idea to add the link to the Advertiser login page in a visible place on your web pages and inside your PowerSeek templates. The link to the Advertiser login page can be obtained when in the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Settings >> Global Engine Settings - Scroll down to the Useful Links section.

The advertiser login templates can be customized in the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Template Manger - Look for the 'User Login Page' section.

3.3  Advertiser Control Panel Customization

All the HTML code throughout the Advertiser Control Panel can be customized. The templates used works in the same manner as PowerSeek's templates. If you are not familiar with working with PowerSeek templates, click here for easy to understand instructions on how to work with PowerSeek templates.

You can customize all aspects of the Advertiser Control Panels in the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Template Manger

3.4  Customizing Email Messages

In the template manager there are also email messages or templates which you can customize. These email templates are normally used to mail advertisers. The email messages available for customization are the following: (Note that these emails can be customized when in the PowerSeek PPC Control Panel >> Template Manger)

  • Forgot Password E-Mail
This email template is used to compose an email message to be sent to an Advertiser when he/she requests that his/her password be sent to him/her for retrieval in the event where he/she lost his/her password.

  • Registration E-Mail
This email is sent just after an Advertiser completed the application form (or registration form) to register an account to be able to advertise on your PPC Search Engine.

  • Reject Listing E-Mail
If you enabled the setting of verifying PPC Links when they are added then this email template can be used to reject a link added by an advertiser. You can for example reject his/her link and send this email to inform him/her that he/she should make changes to the link and that it was rejected. You can for example also list other reasons why the link was rejected.
