A dynamic directory takes up system resources because it generates pages on the fly. But any changes made to it from the control panel is available immediately.
The downside of a static directory is that you have to re-generate the HTML files of your directory structure to reflect any changes you made to links within the control panel. A static directory uses very little resources because end users mostly browse only HTML pages. (The generated HTML pages) We recommend a static directory over a dynamic directory because it takes up very little system resources. A static directory is where the complete directory tree with all it’s pages are generated beforehand. This enables users browse your directory like they would ordinary web pages – resulting in saving a lot of CPU resources on your host. Highly recommended. |
