When I run generate.cgi from telnet or SSH the prompt just blinks continuously and after a while it comes back to the prompt.

Sounds like you have silent mode turned on when generating HTML files from telnet/ssh. To change this, go to the control panel and click on the ‘Settings’ tab. Now click on ‘Global Engine Settings’. Look for a setting that reads ‘Generating from telnet/ssh’ – Set it to ‘Verbose’
