Question: PowerSeek is not sending emails. How can I fix this?

Answer:
  • Some hosts requires that you send email from a valid email address when using the sendmail program to send email with. Ensure that you are sending email from a valid email address. This means that the email address that you are sending email from needs to an email address that belongs to the domain where PowerSeek is installed on. To set this, go to the Control Panel >> Settings >> Customize Email.  In this section you can customize all email messages that is sent in various situations by PowerSeek. Ensure that each email has a valid email address in the 'From Email address' field when editing the various email responses sent by PowerSeek.

  • It is recommended that you use the sendmail program to send email with PowerSeek when PowerSeek is hosted on a Linux based host. You can view what PowerSeek is configured for in the Control Panel >> Home Tab >> Configuration Information
  • If you are using SMTP, ensure that you are using the correct mail server address. The correct mail server address would look something like this: mail.yourdomain.com - This address needs to be the address of the mail server for the domain where PowerSeek is installed on.
