Question: When I run setup.cgi I get the following error:

Failed... Reason: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'

Answer: This is one of two problems.

It can be a MySQL setup/installation problem where you will have to contact your host so that they look into the problem.

This will also occur if the MySQL server, serving you is situated on a remote host. This means that you will have to enter a Mysql hostname and port in setup.cgi – If you don’t know these, contact your host and ask them what the remote host and port is for MySQL.
