I need help figuring out why the email confirmations arrive without formatting. That is, the confirmation link is not a link and the text is not formatted. I have NOT made any modifications to the TEMPLATES. I did, however, fill in the blanks for Name and RETURN EMAIL to the Confirmation Email form.

I've used the FREE EasyList on many website in the past. They generate properly formatted emails on my system. The new one does not.

Is there a setting for this or is it a bug?

Please test it on this page and let me know what you get:

P.S. There's the same form on the home page but it doesn't work. The server doesn't seem to be configured to allow posting from the index.html page. Any body every seen that before?

Thanks,
Keith

For the email formatting copy and paste the text of the email into Windows NotePad. Remove all the page breaks and replace them with new ones. Copy and paste the text of the email message back.

You get different kinds of pagebreaks which is not visible to the eye. Removing the old ones and placing new ones should solve the problem.

Regarding the Form issue. Have you tried re-obtaining the HTML code from the control panel and re-inserting it inside the web page?

Thank you for replying to my inquiry.

I did exactly what you instructed, but the email confirmation is still unformatted in the sense that appears in default times-roman and the link is not linked.

By the way, I had not fooled with the text in the edit screen except to add Lodi Community Foundation in the signature. But your suggestion was worth a try.

Can you make another suggestion? Here's a link to the home page if you'd like to see it for yourself. (use the Subscription link). I figure it's either a bug in the script or SENDMAIL on the server is not handling it properly. I'd appreciate your continued help!

Regarding the form, I got it to work only after putting it on the top of the page. The server apparently doesn't like something, although the code and features are not complicated. I decided to dedicate the form to a pop-up page as a work-around.

Thank you,
Keith

Gerrit,

I asked the guru that runs the server and he tells me it's not stripping out the formatting. He also looked at the EASYLIST script, especially the subscribe_conf.eml file, and said that, in fact, the text in the email confirmation is NOT being formatted at all.

Can you verify this and, if true, let me know the fix?

Thank you,
Keith
