Hi,
Is there any way to do the following using the Standard (as against Advanced) search:
A: Restrict searches to whole words.
(not being able to do this is causing many incorrect results being returned)
B: Force two (or more) keywords to be treated as phrase?
TIA

You can make use of the advanced search box HTML code and present it as a standard search box. To do this you will have to include the check boxes as hidden values in the scope of the form. I assume you know what hidden values is?
If you only want whole words to be searched, only include the hidden value whole_word=ON
If you want to force 2 words phrase matches only, you can do the same as above but only include the hidden value phrase=ON
Whole words and phrase matches by default has a high relevance and will normally be displayed first.
