I was testing it out on my second site running TS (no need for it on the first). I may not be doing something right.

Does it import the links ON A PAGE?

Or, does it start from a particular page and then follow the subcats on the page, digging deeper into the inner layers until all the links are indexed?

Thanks.

The odp importer only imports 1 category at a time. You load up the script and specify the category where links should be imported to - then you copy and paste the url from dmoz.org into the 'URL' box and press the submit button to import.

The importer is still an alpha and has bugs. It may not work if you have thousands of categories. We will remove the bugs that we know of and complete the importer in the near future

May I clarify please.

A category having sub categires will not be imported. Is that what you're saying?

Is there a maximum number of entries that should be in that category?

What is the Cat ID and where can it be found?

If I want to import from a category called Filmmaking, do I have to create the category in TS before attempting importation?

Thank you for your time.

Sub categories will not be imported. The importer will only import the links in the current category,if there is links available. You have to create a category in Turbo Seek, and then import links into it via the odp importer.

You can find the cat ID when loading up odp.cgi in your browser.
