Greetings,
I have installed the trial version of Turbo Seek and have a few questions. The first one is about related categories. A person named Raza made a similar post last September and tehre was no reply. Here is his/her message. Please reply as it is a question I have as well! Thanks!

My directory is organised Country-wise followed by sub-directories as Nature of Website. However, in certain sub-directories there are second level sub-drectories that also are relevant in other areas of the tree. Can I link related categories anywhere else in the tree structure, and those should appear among the list of sub-drectories?

If all this is confusing, please go to:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Computers_and_Internet/
and note the first item in the categories list:
Business to Business@
This item in fact is not a real sub-directory of
http://dir.yahoo.com/Computers_and_Internet/
but instead it is:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Business_to_Business/Computers/

I want to do similar sort of cross linking of directories.

How do I go about it?

Raza

Thanks!

Cross linking is not supported by the current version but is planned for ver 2.0

For more info on version 2.0 see:

HI everyone!

I found a workaround that is working fine at my website. The magic word for this trick is multiple templates. My site is using seperate template for each top level category / folder. However, most part of each template is the same. The differences are minor (essentially the meta tags, title tags, and other such descriptive text that acts like food for the web spiders.

Please hop over to:
http://www.gulfjobsites.com/jobs/United_Arab_Emirates
Here you will see various sub folders plus the text "See also major companies in United Arab Emirates" which cross links it to
http://www.gulfjobsites.com/jobs/Top_Companies/By_Country_United_Arab_Emirates/

I have hard coded this cross link in the template for my top level category United_Arab_Emirates, and this template applies to all its sub folders too.

I did similar cross linking in each country's template.

I know its not simple, I know its not easy to change. My options were:

1. No cross links
2. As described above.

So I chose the second option.

If you implement it, or strike on some other improvisation, please do let me know.

Best regadrs!

Raza
