At Step 3 in the instructions to install the free version of Turbo Seek it says to create a data directory but NOT to put in in the public_html folder.

My says that any file that has to be accessed from the web must go in the public_html folder.

Where am I supposed to install the directory?

Thanks
Mary

The files inside the 'data' directory don't have to be accessed via the web. It will create a security risk. Place it somewhere where a web browser cannot access it's contents.

If there really is nowhere else to place the 'data' directory then place it under the cgi-bin directory.
