If Host Monster no longer allows the CGI privileges of 777 necessary to run Powerseek...why would Focal Media recommend them as a Hosting Provider?

I host my own directory sites and several other sites on my own server. If you are looking for one at a low cost, let me know.

They must have recently changed it. Where it states to set the permission settings to 777 in the installation instructions set it to 755 (a web server can be set up like that but most needs 777 depending on how the web server is configured)
If you are having trouble with the installation open a ticket and we can look at it for you.

Hi Gerrit,
755 is as high as it would good, and it still kicked out a permission issue.
I talked to Host Monster directly and Power Seek cannot be installed on their servers.
The closest product I found in the same price range is inmotionhosting.com
You might want to update your affiliate program. =/

Thanks Ralph. We will update it.
Pity they are doing this as I cannot see how any Perl or PHP scripts will function on their hosting if it doesn't have permission to write to files.

Hi Gerritt,
What providers are you aware of that definitely support Powerseek?
I just went through my second provider tonight, Inmotion.com.. they do not support 777 either.
