Hello,

Could it be possible to auto generate and update a google sitemap.xml and ror.xml file
(also for yahoo)

I am generating one myself right now for google and yahoo, but with 950.000 links this is taking some time.

How I see it:
- In admin section, a plugin or so what you can enable
- in that plugin you are able to set all options for the sitemaps, including request google and yahoo visit the sitemap again after sitemap generation is done.
- update/generate the sitemap at the same time you generate your html files with cron... (in my case, update at night)

this would really be handy, and your site gets an really good rating in Google...

Kind regards
Martijn

Hello guys.
I also agree that a sitemap for google and others would be a great plugin, something that generates at the same time as the pages would save time, also something written by you guys would give the ultimate map for such things.

Currently i am using a program from these guys for my powerseek install:
http://www.xml-sitemaps.com

it appears to be working ok... well saying that it does indeed produce a sitemap, i dont know if google like it yet..

its about 700k : http://www.devonizer.co.uk/sitemap.xml

It would be a great plugin though...

cheers
Carl

A note to Focalmedia team...

You know what really drives me nuts on this forum, is that i like to have instant notification of replies, it helps to generate discussion, i dont know if i am alone here and maybe some will say DUHHH just click the option....

But could you either...

add an option in the Profile for always use instant notification..
or change the default display of new posts and replies so that the instant notification box is ticked by default

I can not get it into my head to click it when posting
and its not in the edit options for a post...

Maybe i am just slow lol

Thanks guys.

Kind Regards
Carl

I am using http://www.xml-sitemaps.com also.

I can tell you, it works :-)
(used it for an other site, also because the sitemap for my search engine is taking some time to finish.)

Just to let you know

Generating a google/yahoo sitemap is planned. It will most likely be available as an option when generating HTML files. ( It looks like it would be the most practical )

Carl, we'll look into notifications or subscriptions for the forum.

Thanks
Gerrit
