Hi
I've just discovered and purchased Powerseek and from what I have read I think it looks a brilliant product. The support and forum is also impressive.
I do have a query - If anyone can point me in the right direction here, I would be very grateful.
Our site is very much content driven so the Directory is there to add to some additional interest. I already have about 2,000 well researched links but need to add to them to create a more comprehensive directory.
I know I can build links manually but this is very time consuming and repetitive. I have looked at software to aid the initial building process and have come across a couple of products but both these products are integrated with directory software which as I have Powerseek is overkill and transferring the links once generated seems complex.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? All the sites featured on our site will be visited before being finally being included but its the intitial stage that I would really like to cut down.
In other words following a search with ABC software here are 150 sites on Potholing with links and descriptions (if possible) that are ready to be imported into Powerseek.
I would really appreciate any input - thanks

Well, you can import any comma, tabs, or spaces delimited file into a directory, that's no problem, so if you can use one of the other programs you mentioned to export in text format, you can then import it into PS. Click on any directory you create and you will see the import option on the bottom of the screen.
However, this is really only practical if you don't have a lot of directories, since the PS import will not allow you to preserve category structure. I've bemoaned this fact more than once, along with others, so I have faith that the FocalMedia people will give us some better import options in the near future. Hang in there!
(If none of the programs you have in mind allow you to export in text format, try this site: http://www.pjltechnology.com.) |
