This issue is simmilar to another post by somone else in the 2.0 beta forum that has disappeared.
Lets say you have the directory Structure Holland > Economy > Banks
If you create a new directory somewhere lets call it DeutchLand and in it put an alias for Economy, it will list as containing Zero links while it contains Banks.
Suggested development solutions:
1- Add the option to not Display the number of links in chosen directories
2- Setup Directories to count the content of the alias directories inside them (less desirable)
- Another Alias directory issue:
The search within category seems to ignore Alias directories
Using the above example if you search within DeutchLand Economy and Banks will not be searched.
One Final one also on topic:
I seem to have forgotten where the Alias directory @ sign can be changed, or no such option was ever there ??
Thanks

I think you have to delete it and readd it with the @ change..

Hi,
Is there a solution for
- That @ character ?
- The Alias category displaying zero links while pointing to categories that are full of links ?

The @ character is displayed to indicate an aliased directory.
Thanks for your suggestions, we'll consider it for future versions.

So Gerrit,
Is there a solution for alias categories displaying Zero number of links ?
This is a problem because I do not know of any visitor who would click on a category with no content, right ?
If there is no way to display the real number of links, maybe there should be a way to turn off the link totals for aliases all together Please.

Not at this point in time. Link numbers for this type of thing will be turned off in coming versions.
