Hey Focal Team!
Been having a blast with PSEEK and the suspense for 2.1 is killin me!
I don't know whether this is an isolated case for only my directory or not, but the date displayed under the To Do section of the control panel for Generate HTML files does not update. In my case, it has been stuck on June 3, 2003 even though I rebuild almost daily. If I remember correctly from our beta testing days... one version had the same problem then you fixed it in another version and since the final release the date stopped incrementing again.
Another side note that you may consider a minor bug or not a bug at all... when I rename a category (directory) in the control panel then do a rebuild, the old directory name is left intact with all it's files and a new directory and files are created to take it's place. I went ahead and deleted the old directory using ftp but shouldn't the rebuild just rename or delete the old directory/files automatically?
Final note... what new features are going to be added/changed in 2.1? I am still avoiding customizing templates in 2.0 hoping that 2.1 will have a separate directory for customized templates like TSEEK did. In my case I will probably have a customized template for each directory ( 500+ ) and don't cherish the thought of having 8 files for each template in my data directory.
Hope your having as much fun as I am !

Inside your 'data' directory there is a file called fpgentime.dat - Assign the permission setting of 777 to it. If that doesn't solve the problem, delete the file. I think it may be a problem originating from one of the beta versions. Deleting the file will have the effect of the file being recreated.

This is currently being sorted out and we will have a solution to this in Ver 2.1

Hey Gerrit,
It was "Generate HTML Files" that wasn't updating the date generated correctly not the "Front Page". Either way, I tried changing the file permissions on both the gentime.dat and the fpgentime.dat files to "777" with no results. I then deleted both these files so PS would recreate them. I then regenerated my static html files and updated my front page. PS recreated the fpgentime.dat file and it displays the correct date of generation but PS is not recreating the gentime.dat file. The control panel displays "Last Generated: Not generated yet".
Any further thoughts you may have would be appreciated.
Thanks again,

Hi again Gerrit,
Upon posting the above reply, I continued to do some more testing and discovered that I use "Method #1 - Browser Based HTML Generation", PS not only recreates the gentime.dat file, it also displays/updates it correctly. Unfortunately, I use "Method #2 - Generate Everything at once" when updating/generating my site and this is the method that does not create the gentime.dat file nor update it to display the correct date of generation.
Hope this sheds some light on the subject.

PowerSeek SQL 2.1 Beta is now available which solves the problem. You can get the upgrade from the members section.
